I have modified the layout slightly to allow removing allmost all borders and padding from the container and the tab control. There is a new setting which allows you to set the outer padding (the space between the tab control and the window border) to any value you want. This value was hardcoded as 2 pixels previously.

The new layout allows for completely "flat" dialogs, w/o any disturbing borders or bevel effects (see screenshot).

It will be in 0.9.9.9 within the next few days.

Note that the skinned toolbar is NOT a tabSRMM feature (and will never be). It's created by the background skinning ability of WindowBlinds which can skin dialog box backgrounds.

no software needed for visual styles.

use the uxtheme hack: http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=140707

then download the visual style and put it in c:\windows\resources\themes.

if it's a windowblinds theme, you need to install windowblinds (obviously), which is not free.

No, there isn't. The skinned toolbar with the gradient is a feature of WindowBlinds which can skin dialog background areas. The input area is not skinned.

Its not a VS. It's Tiger XP for WindowBlinds.

There is not much to explain. You need a visual style to get the look for the title bar and other Windows elements. Then you need IEView and some templates for it. The screenshot is just an example, there are plenty of different looks available.
