I have reported issue with tabSRMM and group chat popup missing already here:
http://www.miranda.or.at/forums/index.php/topic,1571.0.html so I will not repeat the whole story here.

I just would like to add that I tried following combinations with tabSRMM as well:
NewEventNotifier+YAPP
NewEventNotifier+PopupPlus
MessageNotifier+YAPP
MessageNotifier+PopupPlus

With tabSRMM configured for group chat (i.e. chat.dll disabled), I was not able to get any popup out of group chat (MUC on jabber protocol) with previously mentioned plugin combinations.

When I switched back to chat.dll and used original configuration (MessageNotify+YAPP) the popups for group chat started to work. So I guess, it would make sense to report it here. (The configuration I used for tabSRMM with regard to popups and group chats, is also detailed in the original post.)

Well, the plugins you are listed do not work with group chats at all.

The popup system is integrated into the chat part of tabsrmm or chat.dll. Both are working fine (if configured properly). So it must be something on your setup / configuration, sorry to say that, but this "bug" is not really existant as the group chat popups are working for me and most other people.

To summarize:

* make sure, popups are enabled in the global chat config
* check the event filter for the chat room and make sure popups aren't disabled for this room.

You may be right, I am not sure I have configured it properly, but the fact is I really do not know how to configure it. I have posted my configuration (I am aware of) in original post. Is it sufficient, or did I miss something?
Also, what si confusing, why, when I replace tabSRMM chat with chat.dll chat, YAPP starts working. Also there is an option in tabSRMM "Disable all notifications" which is supposed to be turned on, when using external plugin for notification. I guess I am using external plugin (MessageNotify), so I should have it off, right?
Or did you mean that I cannot use YAPP with tabSRMM?

It seems I am going to close this thread. After several attempts, I manage to figure out that when tabSRMM is configured to generate notifications (and I remove MessageNotify, or NewEventNotify plugins), chat popups start to appear. The only sad thing is that the whole system (architecture) is so confusing that it requires trial and error approach to get things set up correctly. I have not found any info neither on forums nor in miranda about proper configuration of group chat.

It's not confusing nor anything else. You just need to understand that Miranda distinguishes between group chat and normal chat sessions. These are two complete different things and this is not related to tabSRMM or any other messaging window. In fact, by default, you must install TWO messaging plugins to get support for normal and groupchats (srmm.dll and chat.dll) - tabsrmm has this merged into one plugin and same goes for scriver. But these 2 parts still must be configured separately and there is nothing I or anyone else can do about it, because this is just how it works.

Edit:Yes, we are aware that the separation between 1:1 IM and group chats is ugly and must go away. A more unified messaging api will come at some time and should hopefully eliminate the current difficulties people are having in understanding that they basically have to setup 2 completely separated systems.
