Most of you may have noticed, probably already downloaded the final version 1.0 of Firefox.

Just a quick tip, if your extensions are not working:
  • Navigate to: about:config
  • Search for app.extensions.version (just enter that in the filter field).
  • Change the value from 1.0 to 0.10 (or something similar).
Restart Firefox - note, that you need to manually re-enable extensions which have been disabled, because they were marked as incompatible.

This will make older extensions work again, but there is some risk using this method - extensions which are really incompatible (because they are just toooo old), may produce crashes or prevent firefox from starting.

So, use it at your own risk - for me, it fixed some extensions not working with 1.0. Of course, the proper way would be to update the extensions, but for some of them, no new versions are available right now.

Very happy about the first release for Firefox.

I've been using it since it's v0.3 and it's come a long way!

For those that are using firefox, you should DEFINATELY try one of these optimised builds by MooX:

MOOX Optimised Builds

The speed increase on java based sites alone is amazing, and high content sites also have significant improvent :)  May only save 5-10 secs per page, but lets face it time is money!

Do you know if in Firefox is it possible to set profile folder from command line?

something like:

firefox.exe -pf C:\EvilFox

Setting the profile folder: no. But loading a profile from a specific directory: yes.

firefox.exe -profile c:\...\...

But if you often change this folder, you need to make all your extensions in it also changing to this path or even better, make them relativ paths.

There is a good little program out there for that, google for "protable firefox".
